Day 29: Running With

2019-04-29 By • Filed Under: 30 Days 30 Poems Challenge, Climate, Creative Writing Exercises, Getting Started, Hope, Momentum, Personal Change

Learn from species! Today’s writing prompt is based on the poem As the Deer

Our poem reading for today uses the metaphor of deer—they “run together” to deal with “the pressure changes.”

Write a poem about what we humans can do now that the “pressure” has changed and we understand the global climate problems we face. Feel free to choose a specific challenge we could focus on, rather than the more general issue of climate “problems.” (There are 80 ideas about specific areas, here.)

How can we run together? Is there something we can learn from the deer about how to handle certain climate change challenges? Choose a species as small as the ants or as large as the elephants, to learn from. Do a little research about your species so you can include some interesting specific details in your poem.
